Samsung R730 New Battery Won't Fit

Hello all.

New to this forum as registered but have been viewing it for quite some time and there always seems to be great advice. It's my turn to ask for some.

I just bought a battery which says it's compatible with my Samsung R730. It arrived in the post today and it won't fit.

The battery part numbers on the back of the new battery are:

AA-PB9NS6B
AA-PL9NC6W
AA-PB9NC6B

Everything I can find online says this should fit, but it stops about 1/8th inch short of slotting into place - scared to force it.

Help, please.

okay, you gave us the PN of the new. What are the original batteries PN?

It should not need to be forced. If you need to do that to get it to fit, it is the wrong part.
 
does it fit if you push on it a little? and did you line up the little protrusions in their holes? 1/8th inch seems like just an alignment issue more than the wrong part if teh numbers line up.
 
Pushing worked

My son had a go at it while I was waiting for your reply (much to my horror as I was sure he was going to break the pins), but with some extra elbow grease, it is now in situ.
