SAMSUNG SyncMaster 753DFX monitor problem

Hi, I have a problem with my monitor..

I just turned on the computer and.. BAM! The color is weird..
I thought it was my machine but it's not, it's fully working with TV set but not with the monitor. After playing around, I went to NVIDIA Control Panel and play with each color's brightness.. It's now green's turn but when I move the brighness slider for green, nothing happened (nothing changed) like the blue and red ones. Are there anything that I can do?

NOTE: When I unplug the monitor D-Sub cable, it shows the 'No Connection Detected' screen there should be three rectangles of red, green and blue but the green one is missing.

Yeah, you might have stuff something, maybe something is stopping the electron beam from exciting the green phosphorus so you don't see any green. In other words, your monitor is Not FULLY functional anymore.

I use the Vista theme and it uses lots of grey color..

Before: Grey is grey
Now: Grey is pink

And, the only way to fix it is to change the electron beam (send it in a repair shop) or change a new monitor?

A transistor that amplifies the signal to the green gun has failed. A Repair shop bill will cost you around a $100. You’re going to need someone that's good at electronics to replace it.

Good Luck...

I wouldn't try a LCD, I still think that CRTs are superior to LCDs in every way except for its bulkiness. I find that CRTs are the best for gaming, I'm still using my 21" Crt instead of upgrading to a LCD, why do that when Crts are so cheap and does the same job if not better than a LCD?

Also Crts support higher resolutions to boot.

I disagree...the only drawbacks to LCD's that I can think of is that you can have a dead/stuck pixel, and the screen is more fragile.

Also, I'm not sure where you got that CRT's support higher resolutions, but that's not true. You're thinking that they can support resolutions other than their native resolution clearly, but I can't think of a reason you wouldn't want to run a monitor at it's highest (usually its native) resolution.

In addition, while CRT monitors may initially offer higher contrast and color, as what happened to the OP, the phosphors in the monitor (the things that give you different colors) will degrade, leading to a lesser and lesser color and contrast, meanwhile, LCD's offer constant contrast and color sharpness, which is very close to that of a [new] CRT.

For example, a 19" widescreen LCD only supports a maximum of 1440x900, while a 19" CRT supports up to 1600x1200. CRTs are cheaper and their image quality is the same if not better than a LCD. Are you thinking about plasmas screens because my crts don't fade, I have been using my 21" one for ages now and it still as bright as ever. Also there are more things that can go wrong with a LCD, a common very annoying problem is the backlight going, they are display is stuff.
