If you ever want to buy a flash drive, invest in Sandisk.
I have a 4gb card that I left in my pants and it went through the wash for one hour and the dryer for one hour. And it STILL works like new! One GREAT flash drive. It was only like 10 bucks... So yeah. Best 10$ I ever spent.

Plus the U3 software is great. I load firefox and all my other apps on it that I use away from home.

U3 sickens me, i killed it on mine..:D Ive run plenty of flash drives through the washer, never had one come out and not survive it yet.

First thing I do with any of my U3 enabled flash drives is remove it :P

As for durability, any flash media should be fine in water. As long as it's not powered while it's wet and nothing corrodes, it'll do just fine. I know someone who walked into the ocean with his keys in his pocket (along with his flash drive...) When I first saw it, I thought it had a gold plated USB port or something. No...it was all the rust covering it :P He sometimes had problems getting it to connect, but once it connected, it worked fine.

So what if water gets into them and you hook it up? Would it fry?

You just let them dry before hooking them up, personally if they go through the wash though i rinse mine with distilled water to clear out and soap and whatnot. Mine have been all sorts of makes, sandisk, pny, corsair, and a few off brand ones too...

hehe, i love sandisk drives, they are awesome. looks everyone else knows that the first thing you do with them is remove that annoying U3 piece of crap. That thing helped slap viruses into my 1gb drive...
It's just amazing how much sotrage you can get on a thumbdrive these days...32GB!!! thats only 5gb less than what my current hard drive has... I pitty the person that buys a 30gb external hdd when you can get 32gb thumbdrives.

I have a sandisk Cruzer titanium and I love it, it's been through washes and many falls and it still works and looks great.

I dont play favorites, although corsair drives i have are the fastest of the ones i own. Been looking at a 32gb patriot, patriot makes some great 64gb flash media.

Good grief. 64GB. That's a lot. Why buy an external HDD when you can buy something the size of your thumb? lol. Can't wait for the TB sized thumbdrives. Then HDD's will be out of the picture. It'll be called an internal thumbdrive :)

32 GB is a lot. Why buy a 64GB f-drive if you can just take out your internal HDD and have all the data/media on there without moving it from the HDD to the f-drive??? lol Although.. HDD's arn't pocket sized and it would be a little awkward to lug that thing in your pants all day - Talk about sagging... hahaha.

ive done this to about every flashy Iv'e owned, they all worked, my 2g is nice for storing game files or pictures and whatnot (sandisk ftw)

I have Sandisk too..It is only 4gb but I just use it in a couple of projects..Yeah,I know the U3 something, I just let it..

U3 is the worst thing Sandisk has ever done. It really does let virsuses onto your thubdrive though. I disabled autoplay but U3 still managed to open the drive and slap 100mb of virsues on it... :(

What does everyone think of Sandisk memory cards? like the MicroSD ones for phones and stuff. mines good, the old generic one used lots of battery.
