Sandy Bridge Benchmarks

I dunno....I am waiting for Bulldozer myself. The boosts of Sandy are not really that fantastic to warrant a upgrade if you have a 1156/1366 system. Most benchmarks the 1156/1366 are really close and in some cases beyond them (at lower clocks). Real question I have is what do these chips look like overclocked vs the 1156/1366 overclocked versions. I am also curious if Intel decided to go through the "pay to overclock" scheme.

yeah i agree, if you already got an 1156 or 1366 system than by all means stay where your at.but you also got to consider that the new 1155 is giving you better/equal performance at less power draw and less heat,oh and better OC ability.i think when Sandy Bridge hits the selfs 1156 and 1366 is going to get hit hard with sandy bridge better efficiency, performance and price.

edit:your do for an upgrade, why not get a sandy bridge system?

My Q6600 is almost 3 years old now and still maxes every game I throw at it. The only thing I usually upgrade every year or so is my GPU. My GTX 260 is about 13 months old (bought used for $50). So my next upgrade might be in 4-5 months when the GTX 570 / ATI8 6970 drop in price.
I try to be a smart buyer when it comes to PC parts. Think ahead a bit and get the most for my dollar. Id say I have succeeded greatly with this computer :P
I got the rig below including monitor for $800 after the $50 260 was added 2 years later :)

The other reason is I want AMD to slap Intel down a peg. We really need AMD to become a competitor again otherwise when they fall Intel will gouge the hell out of us. Its been proven time and time again when the competition falls.

Well the new sandy bridge processors seem to overclock unbelievably well. 4.9Ghz on air well. That is assuming you pay extra to get the k series, but still, passing 4 ghz in a breeze is nothing to scoff at.

I would need to see benchmarks from normal users before I believe 4.9ghz on air :P By 4.9ghz I mean stable 24/7/365 as its easy to claim it but real world is more important factor. Would be sweet to see 5ghz processors :P
