Sandy Bridge Laptop

I want to get my Dad a new laptop for an early father's day gift, and was debating a few options.

What I'm curious on is..I know the Sandy Bridge desktop issues were fixed, but was there any, or is there currently any issues with them in laptops?

Looking at a new ASUS.

The chipset issues with the SB chipset affected laptops also. It has since been fixed. There are currently no issues with teh laptops at all.
