SAPPHIRE 100218L Radeon HD for gaming?

Hi, I'm currently working selecting parts for a computer I'm going to start building soon. And of all the parts in a PC, video cards are the one thing that I know pretty much nothing about. This PC will be used primarily for gaming, and while a great looking game is important, my main concern will be frame-rate as lag drives me insane (several year of playing games on a PC that just BARELY meet minimum requirements on old games will so that to you). Anyway, the two cards I'm looking at are the SAPPHIRE 100218L Radeon HD (specs are here)
and the PNY VCG88512GXPB G92 GeForce 8800GT (specs for it are here). I'd really like to know witch of the two cards would fit my needs better. Also, I'm not wanting to spend much more than the price of the 8800GT above, so if there is a better alternative id be very great full to be told about it. Thank you
 
go to tigerdirect.com and look up the visiontek 512mb HD3870. there's a video at the bottom that might help :) or look each up on youtube. 3dgameman.com might have comparison tests as well.
 
yeah if you CAN buy it get the 8800GT. if price is an issue and you cant go to 270$, go for the ati 3870 it is also amazing bang for the buck
