That's kind of the purpose of it ;) Well, for any drive... And with most computers today, you can even make slaves bootable.

I don't think Sata has really a master/slave config anymore. It's just channel 1, 2...etc. Then you just select which to boot from in the BIOS. That's how my last few comps with SATA have been.

Unless you have a really old board (or a SATA-IDE adapter) you dont have to worry about Master-Slave. You are right, you just select the channel.
