SATA connections help

Hi guys,

Im building a new rig, and I have two SATA hard drives, and 2 SATA DVD roms. There are 6 SATA connectors on my mobo, do i just plug the 4 drives into #1 2 3 and 4 connectors? or is there a specific sequence that i should use?

no, just make sure you plug then in 1, 2, 3, and 4, not 1, 3, 5, 6, and then in the bios, under the boot, set it up to boot of the hard drive first and then second have it boot of a DVD / CD drive.

what about the first bootup, shouldnt i boot the DVD first because i'll have to install windows Vista?

yes, you do that, but after that once the OS is installed, put the primary boot off the hard drive.
