SATA Device to IDE Device NEEED HEEEELP

I purchased a SATA Device to IDE Device and when I plug it in my pc has a boot failure. What settings in the bios, boot devices, etc should i look into?

Should any of my drives be seeing my old HD, if so it doesn't and I have never seen it in there.
So if I plug in the new sata drive should it be there as well?
Should I swap out my main HD with the new one to see if it shows up or does this not matter?
Loading Optimal setting does not help what so ever.

Please share any ideas or input please. THX
