SATA DVD drive and hard drives

Right i recently bought a SATA DVD drive and it works alongside my SATA hard drive, the only problem is when i access the drive it flickers on my hard disk drive led, so the system obviously is treating it as another hard drive, is there any way to set it to not do this as im really finicky and it really bugs me when im watching a dvd and its constantly flashing like mad lol thanx

are you sure is not just your hdd working at the same time?

no no i swear it isn't cuz as soon as i pause dvds or eject the drive the led settles down

It just shows traffic weither it is a harddrive or not!

no, that light is only for hdd but since his burner is sata thats why is happening because we used ide burners with sata hdd we dont have that problem.

put electrical tape over the led when you want to watch a dvd. it won't bother you if you can't see it. (you can always unplug the header from the motherboard if you want a more permenant solution). that's really all you can do.
