SATA HD Issue

I recently purchased a western digital SATA HD with 250GB of space. The installation and everything went fine.

Now the problem is that the hard drive won't work. It is recognized by windows, and my BIOS but I can't utilize it. I can put files onto it and such, but, for example, I can't install a game or open up a game patch that is stored on it. I get errors after the HD begins to read.

I used Western digital diagnostics, and the HD failed the test in 2 places:

Re-allocated sector count:

ID-5
Value-105
Threshold-140
Worst-104
Warranty-1

And..

Multi-Zone-Error-Rate:

ID- C8
Value-47
Threshold-51
Worst-43
Warranty-1

These 2 values failed, and the sub-values highlited in red caused the value to fail.

Now, can someone help me understand what's wrong, the WD site dosen't help too much

Specs-ABIT KN8
CPU-AMD athlon 64 3200+
Ram-512 MB
HD-WD2500JS-22MHBO-SATA

And this may also be of assistance: (Sorry dial up users)

Make sure the bios port is enabled (sounds like it is) and the CORRECT raid drivers are loaded for your motherboard. Insert the windows disk, and press f6when prompted to (when its loading everything). Then install the driver from mobo disk, or a: disk...

Give WD a call... If they are are anything like Maxtor was a few years back, they should replace it without any questions if it's still under warrenty.

I would just go ahead and replace it, WD has a 3 year warrently on all drives I belive, but don't hold me to that...things change, and I might be thinking of another brand.

You can get a RMA either normal, or advance shipment from here.

If you don't want to do that or its not under warrenty for some reason, go into my computer, right click the drive click on "tools" then click on error checking, check both check boxes and let it run.
