Sata HD question

I've get a new SATA HD 160 GB, but there is no slot on my mother board that I can connect SATA To it, so is there any way to make SATA works on my mother board?

I've heard the reliability on those converters is rather sketchy... But I've never tried one personally.

If you have a free PCI slot you could also buy a RAID/controller card.

I have another question my mobo runs sata 1 and my hdd is sata 2 so i had to set the jumper on the hdd to 150 if i bought a RAID/controller card could i run my hdd at its proper speed sata 2 and if so would it make a great deal of diffrence in speed , the hdd runs my os.

I use an IDE to Sata convertor... Aslong as you remove the Jumper, there is no problem.. The directions are a little thin also..

If you wanted to connect a Sata HD to a LAPTOP motherboard you should specify that in the original post...

If you want to use a Sata HD on a Laptop, you could get the External encloser for sata drives...
