Okay, so I got it all together, and about to install windows (boot from CD), and it says no hard drive recognized. I have noe 250GB SATA-150 plugged into the Drive, and striaght into the mobo. please help guys, no idea was goin on who should I call too... hard drive company, or mobo company. comp is in sig.

Yeah... some motherboards do not auto recognise the SATA drives so you need a driver disk....which will some times come with your HDD, or you should be able to download them.

I just went through this, basically you need a floppy drive.

Save this: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/michael.mcclay/Drivers/SATA/3x12_x86_win_rdvr-10032.zip onto the floppy, then when you go to install your OS (XP?) and it prompts you to hit F6 to install SCSi and raid drivers at the initial blue screen, hit F6, then it will ask you to press S I think, insert the floppy and press S, once this is done the computer will detect your sata hdd and you're away.

This works, I just did it yesterday and I had the same problem as you.

fixed it in bios. first time i just enabled it, didn't work still. figured out it wasn't boot priority over my other HDD. fixed it tho, thx guys.

I've just been installing all the software I got with my parts, even though I'd installed the drivers for sata and raid, then installed the sata drivers from the mobo disk once I had the os running, then windows detects new hardware (sata drive), so I've installed 2 different drivers for the same thing..hope it doesn't effect the system adversely..
