Sata, Ide, Ata

whats the difference between the 3? i know i have IDE's in all of my computers, dont know if they support SATA, ATA. dont all kinds of HD's have an IDE cable plugged in? could someone explain 2 me what the difference with them is?

SATA is a different cable then IDE, SATA is faster, and not all harddrivees are IDE.

Then its proablly SATA(or less likely, SCSI, again READ THE STICKY it explains it all. ATA isn't exactly a exact type you go out and buy.

A SATA port is only around an inch long, and it doesn't look anything like an IDE. If an IDE doesnt fit, you would be closer to having a SCSI drive.

And PATA (IDE) and SATA are both types of ATA's.
