Hey guys, I have recently got my new computer (finally after 5 years).
I have an IDE 80 gig HDD from my old computer and I brought it over to the new machine (and yes it is very noisy compare to my new SATA HDD).
The main purpose was.. I want to keep my 320gig SATA HDD as my main OS and Program one.
Where as the 80 gig will be my main storage drive and use for regular downloading.
My question would be:
a) Would it be risky to use the 80 gig as a storage drive? as my friend told me I should be aware of the life span. (During the past 5 year, I formatted it around 4 times).
b) Having the SATA 320 gig and the IDE 80 gig set up. Would I generally get a slower performance than having just the SATA one alone? My friend emphasis that having this set up will cause explorer to run through many cache, which create unnecessary slow down.
Thanks ahead.
