SATA installation

Ok, well I just got all of my computer parts and I am building my first PC. Now my question is this. I have a Western Digital 80 GB SATA HD and i was wondering if all i had to do was attach the SATA cable from the Mobo to the HD or is there anything else i need to do?

Ok thanks. So i just plug that one cord that comes from the PSU that has four pins to the slot on the hd?

yes, the connectors will all be keyed as well so you can't put the wrong one in

Ok so I think I did this right. All i need to plug in is one plug from the PSU and then the SATA cable?

yes one cord comes from the PSU and the other is usually a thin red cable that goes to the motherboard form the HD

yup it's basicly as simple as plugging in a reguler HD although you dont have to set a jumper . One cable for power and one for data transfer. Check your motherboard manual to see what it says about plugging in the sata hd as there may be a few options available to you. for example my board makes use of 2 diff. raid controllers etc. You really cannot go wrong with the power cable as the standard connectors wont fit.
