I have a seagate SATA disk, it's been working fine. the OS on the drive was not working so i popped it into another pc and did a disk check and fixed the errors. it started up fine once, then the next time it was no longer recognized by the bios or XP in both the seagate's pc and the pc used to do a disk check.
The drive when plugged into the disk check pc shows the first bios screen for like 30 seconds before it does anything (including going to a boot menu or bios menu or booting up windows from the drive already there.) when i take out the drive, the bios doesnt show up for more than two seconds before booting up XP. in the bios menu, boot menu, and windows the drive is NOT shown. however the delay of the bios screen must mean that the drive is trying to be recognized
I've tried swapping the cable, plugging it to a different port. and i know the drive powers up because i can feel it spinning. The jumper has not been moved either. Its at 1.5 and both motherboards are 1.5
I have important work files in this drive and i need to recover them will i be able to find a solution now, or will i have to get a professional to recover my drive?
