sata question

hi guys,i guess its a silly question but i can't find any reference to "sata" in my computer except for the disk drives say that i have my WD2000JD installed.I was just wondering shouldnt there be somewhere on the start up or somewhere else in the computer that say's S ata150 or something like that?the only line i see at start up is "secondary master disk:LBA,ATA 100 , 200GBDDR at bank.

Oi that is wierd (i thought the drive came in both SATA and PATA but guess not)

My computer tells me my hard drive is on a ATA 100 yet, it is connected via SATA

thanks for replies , as you can tell im a noob ,so i just want to make sure the upgrades i asked for where actually put in my computer.as i said i cant see sata mentioned anywhere.Sorry forgot to add system details

ATX 350 midi tower

im also thinking i need to up grade my video card,would the geforce 6600gt be a big improvement on this system?
