SATA question

Hey there, I have a WD SATA 160G hard drive. I tested out the speed with a little program, i got 66MB/s at max. Is it normal or too slow? Isn't SATA supposed to be much faster than PATA drives?

the transfer speed is bound by the drives RPM, so while SATA drives perform marginally better, there isn't much difference.
