i had the password saved for a site but they changed the site and now the password isn't saved and firefox won't ask me to save it when i type it in. i guess it still thinks that the password is saved. how do i re-save it? thanks.

Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords. The list of usernames & passwords and the sites associated with them comes up. You should be able of editing them directly, but if not, just remove the entry and it'll ask if you want to save it again next time you use the site.

EDIT: Apparently you can't edit the passwords/usernames there... you'll need to delete the entry and then let FF save it again next time you visit the site.

...clear cookies?

that's what i thought. it looks like the new layout for time warner, although cool looking, is one of those bizarre interactive websites that seems more like a popup than an actual website, and therefore firefox doesn't recognize it as prompting you for a password. it's weird because my work email, which is literally a popup asking for your password, does work. o well.

get add-ons "sxipper" .you can go in and delete the pass word for a site in it and it will ask to remember it next time and it does forms also
