Save the laptop...

Hi. I'm addicted to the Civilization games, but my Inspiron B120 laptop has a tendency to, um, feel very warm to the touch when I'm playing Civ4. I'd like to buy a standard, run-of-the-mill desktop that doesn't mind a couple hours of continuous gaming. The minimal system requirements for the game are:

1.2 GHz Processor , 256 MB RAM , 64 MB video card Hardware T&L , sound card , 1.7 GB HDD

but I doubt larger maps can be played with this, or that even half the graphic effects can be turned on. I've been looking at some newer Dell Inspirons (530s/531s) but I just have no idea what everything refers to. I don't want to buy something that sounds ok but turns out to be little better than what I already have...

Anyway, including the monitor I'd be willing to spend around $600, as long as it all comes in one shipment, no assembly required...

Thanks. :)

Ever since I dropped my laptop from 4 feet, and it survived the crash on the sidewalk without so much as a scratch, I've thought of Dell as building reliable stuff.[/testimonial]

I actually do have a little more money to spend, so $700 wouldn't be a problem, but what kind of combination would work best? There are customizations offered for the Dells, so it might be possible to get (some of) the eye candy immediately, but I just do not dare choose one graphics card over the next. Same with processors...

Thanks again.
