Saving "Pet Vet" game to new PC

A big hello to everyone, I'm new here. I'm hoping someone can help me with a project I'm working on. I'm installing a new hard drive in my sister's pc (it's failing) and want to save a game for her 6 year old daughter. It's called Paws and Claws Pet Vet. I don't want to do a complete transfer of the data from her old computer as I intend to do a new install of the OS. I'm only transfering her "My Documents" folder and this game. Does anyone know how I would save the game in progress and any settings the game has in the old computer? For those who have kids I'm sure you can understand what a catastrophe losing her game would be . (She has spent many hours working on it)

Thanks in advance
Kevin

The easiest way to do it would be to re-install the game on the new HD after you install the OS again. However, before you do anything, thier should be a file that is saved somewhere (most likely in the folder of the game) that has all the settings for the current game - or however many games she may have saved. Check for something like "Saved Games", "Current Games", "My Games"....ect. Back-up what seems obvious and you should be good to go. You can test this to make sure you have the right one by moving the file (or folder) to another location and seeing if you "lose" the saved game. If you have, shut the game down, put the file/folder back and start it again. If it's there, then you know you have found the right file/folder. Once you've installed the game on the new OS, just move that file/folder into the newly installed game folder (or wherever you found it initially) and viola!

As asdfguy said, save games are on the PC somewhere...it may be in the install folder in C:\program files\game or in plain site in the My Docs folder, or hidden somewhere in C:\docs settings\username\application data...etc

Browse through those locations and you should be able to find the save game.
Copy it to the same location on the new PC and you are done!
