Scanner for artist

I'm working on a webcomic, and currently my only setback is getting my artwork onto my computer then to the web.

What i need is a good scanner for around $100, I was looking at the Cannon 500F and the 8400F, but I'm still lost.

What kind of medium is your artwork on at the moment? Because depending on the grain of paper or whatever you've used, you may need to apply some kind of editing to the scan to make it look good online.

I can vouch for Canon's generally, I have one myself. As far as technical specs is concerned, the 8400F is definately the better, what exactly are you a bit lost with, understanding the specifications or what to look for generally?

Hrm, if it helps in any way, I do a sketch of whatever then i just ink the outlines, paper and ink source are variable.
