scanning virus

It urks me if i didn't know, but someone blurted out if and i do have profiles. they said if im scanning i need to also log into the other profile and scan. never thought much about it and didn't care. but is all i do is log in with admin rights and im the only one with admin rights and periodically scan as needed.
any administrators out there to set this straight?

It depends on the program. I remember when using like adaware and spybot you had to log onto every account and scan it. Maybe with the newer versions of those programs you don't need to now, not sure....
