One item can easily go into several minutes with a just a quick scan. Defragging a drive depends on how fragmented a drive has become as well as the size of the drive itself. The time it takes to run CCleaner depends mainly on how much you have on the drive to read through.

If you are not finding anything usually a quick scan of each is all that you would need. But a full system scan should be done periodically to see if anything has gone unnoticed or simply hidden somewhere.

also try investing in system machanic. its a good program. this speeds, defrags RAM, increases internet speed, clears clutter and more.

Using a free registry cleaner like RegCleaner periodically can often see some improvement in the overall health of Windows since the repeat addition and removal of programs can leave a number of useless entries in the registry over a period of time. Even after a fresh installation of Windows and the usual softwares you'd be surprised to find some clutter then.
