Science fair... again.

My new idea for the science fair is: Does the temparture of a CPU very directly with it's clock speed (or whatever speed it is being overclocked to, if those are the same thing). I am in 8th grade. I have an AMD 3000+ processor at 1.8GHz, and since you can increase it's clock speed by multiples of 9, I will need to overclock it at about 33 different speeds, so is it safe to overclock it by that much? Also, is this entire idea doable? Thanks.

Sounds doable, if your computer will work with you. The temperature of the processor directly affect's it's overclocking abilities, and it's ability to basically function. Start getting into the 60C's or above and you might notice instability problems.
