Guys.My windows xp has problem.I installed fresh copy .The problem is after computer boots and before loading screen comes ,computer blanks out for about 30 sec and after that as normal loading screen comes and windows comes and runs grt.It is just those blank screen annoying me.I tried on 2 same spec desktop.can any1 tell me what could be the problem.thank you

Whe u say blank screen is blank screen from white or black screens?

This is what happens. After I power on computer, it shows me post screen and after detecting drives it jumps to next screen .it looks like window loading screen is going to come but at that time screen blanks out and after about 30 sec I see windows loading screen.and after that computer runs as usual.I have installed 2 different xp copies and still same thing.I tried on 2 same spec computers.I have installed same xp in lots of desktop and never had problem.not sure why it is doing this time.I tried setting in bios but no luck.video driver is good. Does any1 have any idea how to fix it.thx

I thing the problem comes from your GPU.
If u could try it with another gpu,i am almost sure that wouldnt happen anymore.
have had allready some GPU doing that and usually its because they are getting a litlle small for the OS that we try to run.
But if u allready tried in another computers with same specs and they didnt did that, so the only thing i can remenber is reset your bios save changes and reboot the computer

Flashing Bios its a little more dangerous to do at first, if it was me i would go first to do an reset in BIOS first and see how it goes, if still doing the same thing, then i would look for an updated bios and flash.

There is really a simple solution for this.It happened to me few times. The reason can be that your boot sector is full of unneccessary informations. What you can do is to copy you entire HDD using Ubuntu 9.04 on some USB HDD,then format your entire HDD in your computer using the DOS TOOL called KILL DISK 4.1 and then make a fresh Windows install and then with Ubuntu delete that fresh installed Windows and copy back that Windows OS from the USB HDD on your computer's HDD.

Cheers!
