Screen Defect on Laptop

Hello Everyone, I'm newly registered to the forum, but have been viewing it for a while now. Anyway, to get right to the point... I have an Acer 7736Z-4088 that has a 17.3" screen. There is an issue with the screen that it looks like there is condensation or something similar. It doesn't really look wet, but I can't explain it. The laptop has never been around water, so it couldn't be that.

Here's the weird part. We bought two of these laptops at the same time. This is happening on both laptops! One of them is worse than the other. Mine currently just has this on the right side of the screen from top to bottom, but the other one has it all around the edge of the screen. The problem has not degraded system performance on either laptop, but it's just weird that it happened with both, and they are not that old, either. Not older than 6 months. I have included a few shots of what it looks like. I hope someone knows what it is.

I dont know the cause, but did you buy a warranty with the laptops? you could take it back and see what the sellers will do? Does it look wet when the laptops are turned off? Sorry im not much help

Unfortunately, we did not get warranties for the laptops. I have taken more pictures of the screen. It's most visible when white is behind it, so I changed my desktop to white to take some better pics. Here they are. Notice how in the last picture it spreads in this circular fashion.

PS: When the screen is turned off, it isn't visible at all. It's also harder to see when darker colors are behind it.

That looks exactly like the plastic got left on. I see bubbles and places on there that are light colored, just like if you put plastic wrap on it. Many manufacturers do this.

I agree with the plastic idea. Test it, take a coin or something fairly dull and rub over the affected area. (careful not to scratch the screen). If it is not plastic, then i suggest you get a professional to inspect it. That would be the best way to find out what is wrong.

It's not plastic on the screen. I took that off when I first got it. It does appear to be some type of separation, though.

Well, I don't know what the deal is. It looks like some plastic is sticking to the LCD panel, but you're sure it isn't. Have you gotten a tech's opinion?
