Hey.. i have this old HugeBee computer and the screen doesnt work anymore. i mean the computer doesnt send any output signal through the monitor connector in the back. i bought an nvidia mx 4000 pci card to try and see if that would work but i dont get any output signal from that either. i know everything in the computer is working.. hard drive spools up, fan turns on, lights go on, but no video output for the screen whatsoever. if anyone can help me solve my problem, id appreciate it

thanx

Just because the drives spin up doesn't mean the computer works. Drives will spin up as long as they have power. Now they won't spin up all the time if there's a major motherboard failure as occured with my old server, so something might be salvagable out of that computer...

I'd first try to take everything out you could and see if you get anything more from the system. Just leave the video, ram and processor in there. If it doesn't work with just those left in there, try some more RAM, or just a single stick if you have more than on. If it's still dead, maybe try more RAM if you can, but it sounds like the motherboard might be dead.

Ah, there's always the power supply too. It couldn't hurt to try another one.

If your monitor's working and the card is properly seated then you need to check to see if other hardware such as your CPU or memory might be at fault.

im sure that the monitor is working (brand new, and works on my other computer), and i know that the video card was inserted properly (also brand new, and works on my other computer as well) but how would i check my cpu to see if its the problem?
thnx for your help guys
