Hi all,

for the past few months ive been suffering with bad headache and tiredness.

i get enough sleep, probably too much actualy but i think the reason for my headache is my pc monitor.

maybe its putting too much strain on my eyes? ive cut down on how much i use the pc but i cant stay off it forever im addicted lol
so i was wondering, you know those like screens you can/could buy for CRT monitors

can these be purchased for a 22" Widescreen LCD monitors? if so where in the uk?

i havnt seen any around, infact i have not seen any for CRT monitors lately.

thanks

Yeah refresh rate is what will be doing it. My work computer has crap on baord graphics and when I put the resolution up higher I had to drop the refresh rate, same thing occured I got weird headaches etc.

I have since dropped the resolution and raised the refresh rate, problem solved.

That can be caused by big screen & no ambient light. When outside gets dark I usually turn on the lights in the room i'm staying in at the computer.

Have you considered getting your eyes checked? Sometimes when I get headaches b/c of using the computer too much, wearing my glasses helps a whole lot... used to be a problem until I went to see an optometrist (I think that was the word, can't be bothered looking up:P)

i have considred yes just have not got round to going,i have not been to the Opticians for ohh,i think i was 15 when i last went for a checkup :o

but i have no problem (that i know of),i can read fine,i can see things quite far away.

try a backlight-doesnt have to be very bright

as far as getting your eyes tested, i went lto hospital eye section last year because i got concrete dust in my eye from work

i got both my eyes tested and i found out that i have very poor sight in the eye that didnt have the dust in.

when she held the chart up for me too look at i couldnt see anything with my left eye, turns out my right eye is very strong and it compensates for my left.

you wont know if there is a problem with one of your eyes unless you walk around with a patch on one eye then try the next-how often do you do that lol?

True. And even if you can see well with both of your eyes, if the strengths differ even slightly it may cause headaches. Maybe your eyes are just a tiny bit different? Also, there is a number of other eye-anomalies-whatever that a pair of glasses pretty much fixes...
