Screen freezes after inactivity

Some times when my HP Pavillion DV-5 1095 has been on a while but not used, it freezes the screen. I can still move the cursor, but i can't click anything.

It started happening after I installed win7. I have got a new screen, so it's nothing wrong with that.

Only thing i can to is to force shut down the computer to then restart it.

Anyone know how to fix it?

Looks like you have some drivers that are still not fully compatible inside your computer.
Is your Windows 7 32 Bits? If so download the drivers from here:

If your Windows 7 an 64 Bits Operating System then download them from here:

Hope that helps

Ok, I've dl'd and installed drivers, so hopefully it won't happen more. I will post here again if I get the problem again.

It still happens, after installing all the drivers from HP's driver page.

Is windows up to date?
What were you doing when it freezed?
Ok, in that case try this:
-Right click My Computer
-Click in Manage
-In the new window click once in Event Viewer
-Expand the Critical (in the small +)
-Post here the errors that you had there so we can give you more info.

theres a bunch of critical errors where the source is kernel-power. Event ID is 41. Not sure what to post.

I have been googling around and looks like there is a problem with multiple CPUs installed (like your Core 2 Duo) running with diferent Stepping levels.
And Intel cant really do nothing about it.
Its the Boards manufacter that needs to put the BIOS able to work
with diferent Stepping levels at the same time.
What you can do is contact HP and ask them what kind of upgrade is better
for your System (like an BIOS update or an Hotfix from microsoft) to clear this kind of error.Give them the model of your HP and tell them the same as i wrotten here for your.
Help that helps
