Screen goes blank after game loads

On my parents computer, which has the same video card as the one in my sig, whenever we try to load Tiger Woods 07 for my dad, the screen goes blank and says there is no signal. You can hear the sounds in the background and actually play it a little while (like swinging the club) but you just can't see it. Sometimes it will also make the computer restart. I replaced the psu with a 400 watt Ultra and added another 512mb of ram to make it a total of 1GB. The card should be able to run it but it won't.

Can anyone suggest anything else to do?

The specs of the computer are a socket 939 amd 3500, 1GB of ram, Asus x1600 pro 512 gpu, 400 watt psu, and view sonic 19'' lcd monitor. Thanks in advance!

By the way I also updated all the drivers and downloaded a patch for the game as well.
 
Are you forcing refresh rates in games? If you try to force a refresh rate and resolution not supported by your monitor, no signal will come up.
 
Also this might help, try to use DVI 1 for your primary monitor, I don't know maybe its my card but I find that I get heaps of problems if I just connected one monitor on the DVI 2 port of my graphics card.

sorry to bring this back from the dead, but i am getting similar problems with my monitor. my card has a VGA (1) and a DVI (2) and i am using a monitor that only supports dvi and i am running into problems having it only being connected to the dvi slot. what the heck can i do?
