Screen problems with semi new computer

I have aquired an used HP amd 64 athlon x2 3800. The seller is considered to be honest and is unlikely to sell damaged equipment. Although there should be no OS on the computer I expect that there is some kind of a picture on the screen when I start it. The problem is that I have tried it on two functional computer screens and there is no picture what so ever appearing when I start the computer. What could the problem be?

You most likely wont see a "picture", however you should see text when you turn the computer on.

I would check and make sure the graphics card is seated and connected properly (if it's not integrated).

When you turn it on, do you hear any long beeps?
