Screen Resolution Chnging

Hi, Guys,
I have a dell inspion 600m with a Mobility Radeon 9000 video card, every time i close the screen the resoltion changes from 1024x768 to 800x600, so when i open the screen againn all the icons are screwd up
realy pisses me off
any more

based on what?

if the resolution is reseting at startup, it could very well possibly be the drivers...when you troubleshoot a computer you start from the easiest problem and work your way to the worst possible problem, if it was hardware then he would be looking at replacing his entire notebook, so wouldnt you agree with me when i say that its smart to start with looking at the drivers first
