Screen rsolution won't match

I have windows 7 Home premium and I'm using a 37" sharp TV as my monitor. The maximum resolution is 1920 x 1080 but it's too small, it just leaves a 2" black border around the screen. I had Vista before and it let me adjust the screen size manually to fit but 7 doesn't seem to have the same feature. If anyone knows a way to fix this that would be great.

What video card do you have? You'll have to go into it's control panel and set the scaling options to full screen with no borders.

That might be the TV resolution 1920X1080. But I bet you dont have your card resolution set to 1920x1080 or it would be full screen.

+1 to that that is just what i have to do with my tv when it is set to a HD resoultion.

Just to clarify what linkin said, you need to use the control panel for your graphics card, usually ati or nvidia, not to control panel of windows, I dont think windows has overscan/underscan correction natively.
