------------------------
the first game i installed was the Counter Strike source package, with DOD and Half-life 2 deathmatch. that worked fine, everything went normal during gameplay
------------------------
Problem:
a few days later i installed Medal of Honor Airbourne.... it installed fine, so i started to play it. i went through the training, and then i went to briefing for the first mission, after breifing it loaded for first mission. while it was in the loading screen it "froze" for a few seconds, then the screen went black.. so i pressed the window button (the on inbetween Ctrl and Alt on the left side of jeyboard) and it displayed my desktop zoomed in and weird colors. a few seconds later the screen went black again and had a blue box in it that said
something like analog "power saving mode"

anyways i had to restart my PC because i couldnt do anything. i then went online and looked for solutions..i tried reinstalling the game, messing with details on the game, tried changing my screen resolution, and i think thats it.

ok so i uninstalled Medal of Honor airbourne and decided to buy the game Mass Effect. The same type of thing happened with that game, except it happened earlier. when i pressed the play button the screen just turned black....i tried pressing everything Crtl + Alt + Del, esc, del, ... the screen was just black and wouldnt do anything. i tried it again and the same thing happened.

so what do you think i should do?? where is the problem coming from?

im confused right now :/

tell me if u need to know anything else about the computer

a) (re)install newest nvidia drivers
b) use GPU-Z to check video card temps
c) tell me how powerful your power supply is(in watts as well as what the total current in amps is on the +12v. Check the label on the PSU for this info)

hey, before i reserch anything else i want to try using another monitor with my computer, jsut incase it is my monitor. Is it ok for me to use another monitor with my pc? will it ruin anything?

yes got to rule out the monitor

do what i said first though. 99% of the time its drivers, overheating or lack of power, specifically in gaming rigs.

What operating system are you using/what power supply do you have/type dxdiag in run or if using vista in the search bar than click save all information choose desktop as the destination, then open it and copy and past the contents here.

if im not wrong, i've had this problem before. i was unable to play any game as screen went blank or had funny flashing pixels. i tried the directdraw and direct3d test in the dxdiag. i failed that both of them. did u try the test? maybe you can at least figure out what's the problem from there. and im sorry if i've missed out the test result in your post

ok heres the latest ypdate. i was playing couter strike today, and teh screen went black, like it does with the other games, but then it said "teh NV4 Display driver has stopped working normally..."and it told me it was going to restart my pc....

remove your nvidia drivers
then install the latest nvidia drivers
if that doesnt work install the latest beta ones
