Screensaver doesn't show

I am using windows vista home premium 32bit OS. The default screensaver was the bubble, 5 minutes iirc. It used to appear after 5 minutes, after the LCD turns off in approximately 15minutes. Out of the blues, it doesn't show every 5 minutes ever from a couple of weeks ago iirc? It simply bypass the screensaver to the turning off LCD.
After right clicking on desktop pointed to properties, screensaver, the settings remained as bubble, 5 minutes.
Why does it make sense to set a screensaver which never appears?
Gurus here is what you for.

Try rechecking the power options profile or did you create a custom plan for that? Besides that selecting none and reselecting the same screensaver to click apply should see that taken care of provided the screensaver file is still good and present not missing.

For the rest of us who still uses screensavers? Originally those were introduced to protect the old monitors from text burn in problems. That was many, many years back. Unless you like the look and effect they seem redundant for most at this time.
