never again will i use norton. what a resource hog.
just downloaded kaspersky 6.0, what a nice program. definitely doesn't hog your system on boot up.
i bought norton for my other system awhile back, supposed to have a year subscription for updates. when i enterd the key it said it expired, then i had pop ups every half hour to renew.
kaspersky is definitely industrial strenght catches lots of stuff noton whore doesn't.

Hello tommycompton,

kaspersky Does it say which operating systems it works with? I already downloaded it, just hope it works with mine.

i'm not too sure which operating systems its compatible with, i searched there site and it dosen't say much. it works with windows xp. when my 64bit antivirus runs out i'll try it on there too.

i'd use avg free on 32 if i didn't have kaspersky, but avg free dosn't offer 64bit support.

I had norton2005 and switched to kaspersky and it took forever for web pages to load because it was scanning them...even with all the settings on low so I switched back to norton I dont have any problems with it. As far as being a resource hog I just dont see it, kaspersky used just as much.

Norton is fine it really doesnt slow my system down on startup ( unless your comp is old) but AVG is also pretty good

i'd use avg free before i ever use norton again and not because its free.
my other computer isn't old or slow, and norton was always taking its sweet ass time on boot. canned it for avg on that system and it was like a performance boost.
have no problems with kaspersky slowing up my web pages, if i do i'll find something else, just not norton.

I am not saying Kaspersky is not a great antivirus but it just would not run right on my PC for some reason? I have no problems with norton on this computer but norton does slow my moms down like Kaspersky slows this one down. Could these slowdowns people experience actually be an issue with the computer it's self and not the antivirus? Maybe some kind of driver configuration that the antivirus does not like? Or even a CPU issue? What I mean by that is just about everyone I know that has an AMD seems to have issues with Norton and my moms pc is an AMD but all the people I know that have an Intel CPU have no problems with norton.
