i cant see how that would be possible, unless maybe you ran the script from another source. (e.g another pc)

Erm.... thats physically impossible, when the PC is OFF, its OFF. not ON, so how can it run the script to turn it ON if its not ON already to be able to run the script.......???

Anyway, there are things like WAKE ON LAN which send a signla to your PC through a network cable which switches it on, perhaps this is what your thinking of...??

I had this weird thing before I rebooted my system that whenever I shut down my PC it would automatically turn back on 2 days after, 5 hours later; random hours.

i have an option in bios when i want to turn it on, it's in power managment and then i select the day in the month and the time of booting, useful

My old Dell had this option i believe. It was a laptop though...and you could select the day and time and stuff.

If you mean a 'restart' rather than a cold reboot of your PC then this is possible bacuase windows has the same script built in, otherwise you cant restart you pc unless you can program you mam or your sister to press the 'on' button for you whilst your away

imagine this, you PC runs on oxygen, in this case its electicty. You want you PC to do something that requires oxygen (or electricty) whenever you disconnect from the oxygen fully you cant breath and you fail to work, I guess computers work on the same principal

That is different, when windows "restarts" it doesn't shut down then come back up, it just boots down and botos back up, it never turns off competly in the process though.

He said he wants a sciprt too turn on the PC after shut down after a certain peroid of time.

Run on battery!

The PC I'm talking about is within a network hosted by Windows 2003 Server. I was aware that a LAN signal existed, but is it possible to run from a client PC on the network, not from the server host itself? ---
Plus, remember guys, the date script for Windows works when the PC is off (it runs on the battery). Can a similar script run on the battery to turn on the PC? That is the question I am asking. :)
