I read a couple reviews of my netbook about people using the card reader slot as a permanent housing for SD cards to boost performance. Whether or not they meant for ReadyBoost or as a storage drive, it got me wondering. Would a 16GB SD card inserted in the card reader slot provide for a very fast or reliable drive? I was thinking about the possibility of reloading the OS onto it, but I don't know if I would be able to, or if it would be worth it. Just wondering what your opinions are.

Well if it is there permanently then you will have more place on you original hard drive, but i do not know wether it would be better. Although 16GB is enough for any OS, but the extra it takes off the memory, might slow some operations down. BUt you can always try.

SD cards are usually pretty slow, so I think the answer would be no. I have heard of people using CF cards as an actual drive, though the performance is usually pretty poor.

Well that's good news because I don't want to have to restore the computer again. Lol, would it be worth it for the ReadyBoost? It already has 2GB of RAM in it, but if it helps the performance I might as well try it.
