i'm planning to purchase this drive as it's onsale at newegg but the ratings aren't that good. a lot of DOA. can anybody comment on this drive? should i avoid it and get the more stable 1tb?
I heard of a lot of issues as well causing the drive to fail, I did read that Seagate released a new firmware update for the drive that should fix it, but it's a pretty lengthy and complicated procedure.
well, i just got one. non oem. hopefully it doesn't die on my dad who lives many miles a way. i'll most likely update the driver as many people seen to have that problem. not only that but i've read that some of the updated drivers aren't doing too well either
