Found a good deal on DealNews about this drive and got it for $109.99 s/h included, no tax.
I am going to use it to store the video files which can take up quite a large chunk of the storage on my internal SSD, and use it to back up the SSD system/data drive of my laptop as well.
Come to find out that this 5TB is not supported by any of Seagate's backup software, including Seagate Manager, which I used for my 1TB backup drive. Seagate said this drive was not designed as a backup drive, but an expansion of the system. But that's a really stupid statement. I am sure a lot of people were buying this drive with backup in mind.
Seagate's technical support told me to use Windows' File History as backup. I did that and it seems to be working well.
I also use Syncback (a freeby software) to do synchronization between two external drives. I can't move around with the 5TB drive because it is bulky and requires an external power source. When I go to another location and I want to have some video project with me, I need to take that video project into a 1 TB external drive so I can easily carry it with me.
