yeah, I heard something about this a while back... I never cared much for Maxtor really, after all the problems I had with them... I just hope this doen't mean Segate's quality goes down.

I always thought maxtor was up there in the rankings. They are buying out the competition, smart.

Yea, i always thought maxtor was doing pretty well. I liked them, awhile ago they where having liguidation sales and i got a 500gb hdd for 150$. STEAL!

Maxtor's been having troubles the past couple years or so with drives crapping out, just as their warranty period was cut from three years to one. I have an older DX541 as my slave and it is just unburstable after four solid years, but I read too many horror stories after mid-2003.
