Been having a strange problem in the past week or so. When on google or yahoo, ill search for something, click a website then a page comes up with, http://results.yahoo.com/ a continue button then automatically loads a wrong webpage.

I did a virus scan, found nothing. Any ideas, its getting annoying.

No. And its getting on my nerves. I cant look anything up at all on any search engine. I was hoping some people on here would have a clue as to how to fix this, but so far no such luck.
Please if anyone has any ideas please post.

I would hazard a guess you have a trojan that is redirecting you. Go to the Security section, read where to download Hijackthis and post the resultant log there.

I was playing around with some things, I downloaded spy bot, ran a scan it found stuff, i had it fix that. Still didnt help, so i uninstalled spybot, and after 2 restarts an icon appeared next to shutdown menu, that said click here to install upgrades and shutdown, i clicked it and left. When i went back on it had to configure updates, a window saying Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. found a problem...

Trojen:Win32/Alureon.gen

Was removed. Thankfully everything is back to normal and working.

Now a few questions:

What is Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool?

What is the info on Trojen:Win32/Alureon.gen ?
