imo i dont think sli is worth it. you say you want to go sli later. by the time you want to go sli there will be a card out just as good as your 2 cards together for a little more. so i really never seen the point to sli. but thats just me

get the GA-P35-D3SL you cant go wrong with that thing man.

thats a really good board. the only downfall to it is that it doesnt have raid and firewire, but i use neither so it doesnt make a difference to me whether i have a board that has it or not. Plus my wolfdale booted right up and didnt need a bios update which was pretty damn sweet.

but do you understand what i mean when i say SLI is pointless instinct?

ya. Once you said that i thought about it and thought to myself its going to be a while yet before i get my 2nd vid card so its not worth it especially with all the things coming out these days ill be outdated within a year. Thanks for the advice. One question whats raid and firewire? whats there importance?

raid is when you set up 2 identical hard drives to act as one so they seek faster and work faster together than 2 separately.

Firewire is just another type of connection just like USB but its just not as popular. depending on what firewire you get will determine the speed. most firewire is just like USB speed wise.

There are many types of RAID. You only named one outta many. Each motherboard has different RAID options. There are RAID types that make a identical clone copy of the main drive, ect.
