Second dvd/cd writer

After fitting a second DVD driver in my computer what else do i have to do.
Do i have to format or is that only with hard drives.

There is nothing to format so thats only with hard drives.

Is this a Sata or IDE burner? If IDE then you would have to make sure that they are jumpered correctly. Either both at cable select or one at master and one at slave.
