I am securing wireless internet in my house, I reset the router and set up a wireless internet from my pc to be secure with WPA2, the problem is now A second PC (laptop) cant connect to the internet, when the network shows up it simply says "the settings on this PC do not match the settings on the network". this is beggining to be a real pain to secure, any ideas?

EDIT: Unsecured wireless will solve the problem but I want my home network to be secured due to sensitive data that I send everyday, such as banking)

On the laptop, what operating system are you running? Most likely you just need to delete the existing wireless connetion and reset it back up with the correct security key. Sometimes the wireless profile just gets corrupted.

What happens when I start on both PC's with a fresh new profile, i set up the first pc to have a secure wireless profile, that new profile is viewable by the second but is not selectable at all; it'll show up but it is not selectable at all unless it is completely unsecured (not even WEP).

For the pc that can't connect to the wireless, go into the network and sharing center. On left hand side you will see where it says "manage wireless network" click on that then find the name of your wireless network and highlight and click on remove. Then try connecting again, this time make sure you enter the correct security key. Let me know the results.

aara0123,

You can have your wireless setup to enter the mac address of the second computer or however many computers are connecting to the wireless network, so that you won't have to worry about any passwords and it will be baseon the mac address of the wireless to get on the internet.
