Security on Network

Hi

Have a little problem at the school I am working at.
Someone has hacked into our wireless Router.
Somtime during Friday, the Networkname changed. It is the same network with the same password...but different name.

Any suggestions how I can secure us from this (I found the "recepie" on YouTube how to crack this....)
Thought of allowing only certain Mac-addresses to the network?

If someone is able to change the network name, what else is possible to do?

Change the administrator password of the router to something more secure and don't make the SSID visible.

What kind of router are you using?

In a school environment you should not be using consumer grade wireless routers.

Make sure your admin password is secure (8 characters or more and use capitals, numbers and special characters). Using a MAC access list would be very time consuming if the students bring their own laptops to school.

Make sure students do not have physical access to the router, and check for the latest firmware in case there is a security hole that was patched.
