security programs

I have an hp with os XP and e-mach with os win7. I used to install malware programs in the admin account on both machines, no problem the admin and the other accounts had the programs. But now I installed superantispyware and Microsoft security essentials. In order to make the programs to work I need to install in every account, not just the admin acct. What happened ?
 
Unless there is something wrong with windows installer, when you install programs, it installs it onto everyones account. Or you can also select in the setup to only install on your account, maybe thats what you are doing?
