Well it also depends how goo the hackers are, if they know how to get around the firewall, there is no way to know they're in :P
 
The firewall I'm using is Windows and I also have a D-Link 604 router installed.They don't show me though when someone attempts to hack in.

The Windows Firewall only protects you from inbound attacks, nothing going out. As for finding out who tries to hack into your computer, there may be a log somewhere in the system, however you would be better off using a free/trial firewall and see if you can figure out who is trying to hack into your computer.

totally agree, u would be set if u disabled winfirewall and installed comodo free.
 
good show :) comodo is currently one of the best and is SUPER easy to use.... just open it and go into the activty/logs to see what is being denied in real time.... it is mindblowing how many different port scans and rnadom crap will be constantly scanning you, not so much behind a router but you will certainly still see alot of stuff...
 
Are those type routers any more diffcult to set up over what I'm using now. Basicly all I'm running is two computers on one cable modem to the router.Sorry for asking dumb questions, as you can tell I don't know much about networking.

really, unless u are very worried or have alot of money, you will be very safe with a nat router and comodo :)

Yeah looking at the cost and I already have a router , I think I'll just go with comodo. By the way does it work with Vista 64 bit ?
